Nelson Pilsner - Poetry of a Tired Old man
The poetry of 80 year-old Nelson Pilsner. Pilsner claims to have been friends with Gertrude Stein, Henry Miller, Ernest Hemingway and Yukon poet Robert Service. We're not sure if his claims are true but that simply adds to the mystique of this cagey oldtimer. He does have an old photo of himself with Hemingway in what appears to be Key West.....at least it looks like Nelson. It wasn't easy to get his handwritten work for transcription - but worth the effort.

The word "Patchwork" has always seemed to me to be the best description of life. You know...bits and pieces that make up the whole. Sometimes we are able to put those pieces together in such a way they make up a harmonious "whole"; but sometimes the pieces just won't GO together, no matter how hard we try. I'll try to give you glimpses of the Patchwork I call my life when you visit this page. Just like my life, it will be a slow, halting process fraught with many dead ends and back-to-square-ones. Eventualy, however, I hope it will become a masterpiece which others will enjoy sharing with me.
